Highly recommend. The food tastes like it was homemade at home. Sausage and potato soup was hearty and delicious. The fried chicken comfort bowl with peas and corn over mashed potatoes was scrumptious. Apple crisp with ice cream was served hot and you won't put your spoon down. They serve a good cup of coffee too. Crista was our server and took great care of us.

So friendly and cute little place. We stopped for breakfast and bloody Mary’s . Chicken fried steak is tasty. Perfect spot off the freeway.

Dinner with work colleagues. Burgers are build your own so you need to know what you like. Locals say it’s best in green river for burgers. We had a couple of appetizers and several different dishes. Everyone was satisfied with their meal. I would eat here again.

The Hitching Post has a clean, welcoming atmosphere, and our server was friendly and attentive. Our entrées were very flavorful and, although a bit pricey, rising food and labor costs have made those prices fairly typical. The salad bar, one of the restaurant’s main attractions, was poorly stocked, with both lettuce options nearly empty. Our $13 potato skins appetizer was also disappointing. The portion was surprisingly small, and it arrived cold. We asked our server to take the appetizer back because it was cold, but the only resolution offered was a 10% discount on the appetizer, which didn’t seem appropriate given the issue. I know every restaurant can have an off day, but with better attention to keeping the salad bar stocked, ensuring food is served at the proper temperature, and providing a better resolution when problems arise, this could be a much better experience.

I love this place! I don't get to come to Green River very often, but every time I do, I always come to the Hitching Post Saloon. The beef stroganoff is awesome!! I loved the Ruben soup too, the great beer selection, and the impressive salad bar. The service is excellent and so friendly! Until Next time :)
