First time to Flaming Gorge. It was scenic, and the drive on the Utah side had lots of wildlife off the side of the road. I saw turkeys and deer. The temperature was just right, a storm was moving in later that night. I will have to go camping there next time I drive up that way. I need to drive the Wyoming side too. I was bummed that the visitor center was not open. We were there before 5 pm.

This was my first time through Flaming Gorge, and I felt it was one of the most beautiful drives I've ever taken. If you are a geology enthusiast then you cannot miss this spectacular place. I visited in late September after the summer rush and I pretty much had peace and quiet on my entire trip. At this time of year the aspen trees were changing color and the temperatures were in the 70s during the day. I saw that there is a permit fee for travelers (like national parks) but I never came across anyone that required me to pay any money.

For scenery and recreation and getting away from city life.. This is the place! Amazing views, abundant wildlife... Ashley national forest has always delivered beauty and wonder for me...

This is our favorite place to go! Breathtaking views, fun little spots to eat, and great fishing! We have seen lots of wildlife throughout the park. My children choose this over a mouse themed park! There are so many things to do. I’ve been mountain biking and single track. Lots of trails for hiking and also places to go with your UTV.
