Nick’s Last Resort should be your first choice when visiting the Flaming Gorge area of Utah/Wyoming. Normally I wouldn’t give 5 stars to a campground with no amenities, but this is an exception because Nick the owner is so cool. The sites, with FHU, are enormous (people bring their boats for the nearby gorge reservoir) and the place is exceptionally quiet. But Nick really loves where he lives and suggested a geological loop (Sheep Canyon) we should see — then suggested we hop in his car and he would show us his favorite places, including a spire where Spanish explorers and prospectors carved the image of the Queen holding a baby and staring in the direction of their hidden gold stash! We never ever would have enjoyed the unique beauty of this place without a local’s knowledge. You might not luck into Nick, but you will enjoy spending time in this special place.

Nicks place is well kept, clean, quiet and close to town. Within walking distance of groceries, hardware needs, a brewery grille and ice cream. Nicks personal attention to his campers and their time here is what sets his place apart from other camp sites. We love this place and will continue to come back.

Great place to stay . Fair priced, quiet and low key , large camping area and great location center of Manila and just a couple miles off the lake . Nick had always been very cool and is there for any needs during the stay. Highly recommend to check this place out .

I learned a lot about Flaming Gorge and the owner Nick. He has built this place with his own two hands and its a work in progress, but you show up and want a firepit he hops in his tracker and will make it happen so that you and your family have what you need. I met a few long term guests and they also raved about how wonderful Nick has been. I also heard about a few future plans for the park and I am looking forward tp going back.

We have stayed here multiple times in the last few years and we would give it more than 5 stars if we could. The spaces are huge with more than enough room for a 5th wheel camper and a large boat + a long bed truck. We love this location as it’s centrally located between the Lucerne boat ramp and Sheep Creek ramp so you can pick and choose which to use. Nick is friendly and helpful with a lot of local knowledge on what to do and where to go. The spaces are always clean and very well kept. We will continue to come here and look forward to next season. I wish all campgrounds were built like this one.
